¡Viva México!
This video shows the famous celebration of "El Grito" which is held in memory of the heroes of Independence on the night of Sept. 15. This ceremony, held in city and municipal halls all over Mexico, is precided by a municipal president -similar to city mayors-or another high-ranking government representant such as state governors, delegates and even the President.
In this case we will se current President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, leading the ceremony held at Mexico City´s main square, El Zócalo in 2007.
Notic the fireworks as well as the elaborate light adornments showing the Mexican bandera as well as portraits of Independence heroes.
